ASC launches recruitment drive for fresh talent

South Australian apprentices have the opportunity to kick start their career in naval shipbuilding, with Australia’s largest defence shipbuilding organisation ASC currently recruiting new talent to join the ranks.  Applications are now open for the shipbuilder’s annual apprentice intake, with positions available for more than 25 apprenticeship positions in trades including metal fabrication, electrical and mechanical engineering. New data reveals strong growth in defence sector apprentices

The latest apprentice and trainee data from the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) shows a strong increase in the number of defence sector apprentices and trainees in South Australia over the last 12 months. As at 30 September 2021, there were 5,360 apprentices and trainees in-training in trades relevant to the defence sector – an increase of 28.5% from the previous year’s figures. New partnership to drive recruitment for Hunter class frigate program

BAE Systems Maritime Australia has partnered with Careers Centre Alliance to manage recruitment for the Hunter class frigate program being designed and built at Osborne Naval Shipyard.
